The most disturbing book I’ve read recently | Sealed book review

I’m currently in a semi-hiatus while I’m in the process of packing all my things up to move house at the end of this week.

However, semi-hiatus means that I’m only not really posting, not that I’m no longer reading anything.

Despite the fact that I’m struggling to post things due to not really having any of my physical books to hand (you can understand the annoyance of having no books to photograph in my September wrap up), I thought I’d share a book review for a novel that sincerely did give me the fear this spooky season.

September reading wrap up | 2019

Hi friends, it’s now October, which means it’s time to do my monthly wrap up!

I had a lot of packing to do last month (and this month), so while I was sorting things out I was able to listen to quite a few audiobooks, which definitely upped the number of books I read in September.

In September, I read 13 books, which I think is the most I’ve read in a month all year. But like I said, most of them were audiobooks so not sure how much that counts!
Definitely a wide range of genres here, and even a few non-fiction.

Apologies for not having proper pictures this month, we’ll be back to normal in a couple of weeks!

August reading wrap up | 2019

Hi all,

The past few weeks have really been getting away from me, but I’m back today to share all the books that I read in August, and how I felt about them.

Last month, I read a total of nine books, which is pretty average for me.

There was definitely some books I really enjoyed, and some that I wasn’t a fan of this month, so a bit across the board reading-wise, which is a shame but what can you do.

Here’s what I read:

Mid year reading wrap up + statistics | 2019

IMG_20190705_214114.jpg

Hello! As always I am infinitely surprised that we have now officially passed six full months of the year.

However, that does mean it’s time to look at my statistics, how much I’ve been reading, when, and what I’ve been picking up.

I don’t normally do statistics in my wrap ups, but I always find them really interesting to see, so hopefully you feel the same way.

My reading goal for the year was 52, which I’ve already met, so I’m now informally aiming for 100.

A full list of all the books I’ve read and what I’ve rated them can be found on my Goodreads, which is linked in the sidebar to the right.

Let’s get mathematical.

April reading wrap up | 2019

IMG_20190505_194114.jpg

Hello! I’ve had a bit of an extended break but now I’m back. With a reading wrap up, on time for once!

I had a bit of a struggle with my reading last month, I wasn’t sure that I would actually be able to make my target of eight books for the month.

I also decided to participate in the O.W.L.s readathon, a month-long readathon during April, for which I finished my last book on April 30. Master procrastinator in action there. I’ll do an entirely separate post for that, which should be up shortly.

This month, I’ve got some stats for you, as my six month wrap up with charts was quite popular and I’d like to put more effort into the stats I’m giving you each month.

There’ll be a list and mini reviews under the stats, scroll down if (like me) you aren’t into maths!

Reading wrap up | January 2019

IMG_20190205_214715

Hello! It is already February (HOW) and that means it’s time for me to wrap up all the books that I’ve read in the past month. Even if it is now the middle of the month and I’m a little late.

I set my target at 52 for the year which means I should be reading at least one book a week, or four a month, which I was a little bit worried about as I tend to go through phases of reading loads or reading nothing.

However, pleased to say that I smashed that four books goal this month. Despite how sad the above picture looks, in January, I read a total of eight books. Woohoo!

August book wrap up

IMG_0077

I say this at the start of every month, but I am constantly surprised when the start of a new month rolls around.

However, it is now September, which means it’s time to share all the books I read in August with you all.

I read a fairly respectable five books, which I’m fine with, and it means I am now SO CLOSE to actually completing my goal of reading 50 books this year. I officially have less than 10 books left and it’s only September. What a time to be alive.

This was also a month filled with audiobooks and not an awful lot of physical books, as I naughtily took advantage of an audible sale… oops.

March 2018 wrap up

I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump recently, which carried on mostly through the start of last month, but I’m slowly managing to pull myself out of it now.

It’s getting a bit late to post this now, since it’s mid-April, but I’m going to do it anyway.

In March, I read a total of five books, which is not too bad, although I was off work for half of it, so I definitely could have done a lot better. Some were good, some were not so good, so I’ll finally stop procrastinating and let you know what I thought.
